IMPORTANT POINTS

When applying for daily allowance and in the event that unemployment continues, you must notify the Employment and Economic Development Office and your unemployment fund of all changes in your personal situation during unemployment in the manner specified by these bodies in order to ensure the smooth and flexible payment of unemployment benefits.

Such information includes:

  • previous memberships of unemployment funds other than the one from which the benefit is being applied for
  • receipt of a basic allowance
  • job-seeking and expiry of job seeker status
  • continued unemployment
  • commencement and termination of an employment or service relationship, self-employment and entrepreneurial activity
  • pay and other compensation obtained from an employment or service relationship, self-employment and entrepreneurial activity
  • financial benefit or compensation obtained on the basis of an employment or service relationship, self-employment or entrepreneurial activity
  • receipt of redundancy pay
  • working hours spent in employment
  • proceeds from the sale of a company or company assets in connection with winding up entrepreneurial activity or the placing of company assets in private use
  • termination of service promoting employment agreed with the Employment and Economic Development Office
  • termination of a labour market measure referred to in the Act on the Public Employment Service
  • loss of earnings compensation under a motor third party insurance policy, an employment accident policy or the Military Injuries Act
  • social benefit received or applied for in Finland and abroad, including child home care allowance received by spouse or common law spouse and supplementary pension provided by the employer exceeding the
  • minimum requirements under the Employees' Pension Act
  • wage security that has been granted or denied
  • children under your maintenance
  • any similar changes
